Bellelli Project
Guiding Questions:
Coaching Overview:
Robin Art (RA) & Blue Dot Education (BDE) proposes a semester-long professional learning program at Bellelli Nido y Escuela. The RA & BDE collective will commence the work with a project launch in the fall of 2023. We will run staff through a project slice so that they can learn the framework for an inquiry based instructional practice from the point of view of students. We will then support teachers in co-designing a short mini-project they can launch in their class alongside us as co-facilitators. This will lead into a bigger project the teachers will launch with us their.
With teachers started along this work, we will then do virtual coaching sessions that focus on continued development of their instructional practice. This will lead into a visit from Bellelli teachers to San Diego, CA in the late fall of 2023 for more in person workshops along with a visit to High Tech High in order to see one model in action. The work will culminate with a final visit by the RA/BDE collective to the school at the start of the second term in January of 2024.
RA/BDE proposes a team of four coaches supporting the teachers and staff at the Bellelli Nido y Escuela. This will allow us to do the work of coaching individual teachers with fidelity.
- How might we support school leadership and teachers to engage students in rich, community centered projects that put them in position to do real work and participate in deep discourse around it?
- How might we more deeply grow a culture of belonging, learning, and growing together within the WAWM Virtual Academy to usher in a new way of providing educational experiences to our youth?
